Civics 101: Third Amendment

Amendment  III

No Soldier shall, in time of peace be quartered in any house, without the consent of the Owner, nor in time of war, but in a manner to be prescribed by law.

While it was important during the founding of our nation, the Third Amendment has fallen by the wayside. There is no likelihood of the US Army banging on our doors and demanding beds to sleep in and food to eat.

It’s important to remember that our Constitution was written in a very different time with very different situations.   Some parts have survived well, others not as much.
