The Dane Vienna Fire Department hosted “Cake in the Bay” on Saturday November 16th, taking the opportunity to show off their new fire trucks. Many area residents stopped in to check out the two new fire trucks and enjoy cupcakes.
The new trucks replace three older trucks, two of which were already sold. Engine 8 has been in service for a month, where Tender 3 arrived Friday, November 15, 2019. Engine 8 was very impressive with it’s hydraulic ladder system, refillable air tank system and height in the cab where firefighters can actually stand up. Large letters on the back remind you to “Keep Back 343 Feet”–a memorial to the 343 firefighters who lost their lives in 9/11.
Thanks go out to Chief Breunig and the entire crew for their service and hospitality.
