Update: Because of storms predicted for Tuesday, the scheduled outage has been moved to Thursday.
Friday afternoon, Lodi Utilities placed yellow notification signs on doors around the 100 block of Lodi Street. These notices indicated that there would be an electrical interruption on Tuesday, October 1st, Thursday, October 3rd from 8:30pm to 11:00pm. The Chronicle contacted Lodi Utilities for more information.
The scheduled outage is part of Lodi’s ongoing power-grid conversion project. Several other areas have already been upgraded in the previous few weeks. “The higher voltage for distribution gives customers a more efficient and dependable user voltage in their homes/businesses.” says James Lincoln, Lodi’s lineman foreman.
The conversion process will continue throughout the autumn, and is expected to be completed in 2020.
